Song: Cex - "Wrist Elbow" Quote: Not needed.
Why don't people vote? I just don't understand how you can complain about how American politics are conducted when you yourself are too lazy to get up and register. As if it's such a difficult process. Over 48 percent of the public (according to polls, that is) apparently disagree with Bush, up 13 percent from 3 years ago. However, people don't have the time to do anything about it. And you think that your vote doesn't matter? We have witnessed closest presidental election in America's history with THOUSANDS of votes that were "dismissed" that could have easily turned the position in Gore's hands (not that he would have been that much better). However, everyone forgot about these votes 6 months after the election because it's not important. Then, after that, the classic "I don't care, it doesn't matter to me" excuse. THE PATRIOT ACT THE "WAR" IN IRAQ THE E.P.A.'S FUNDING CUT IN HALF NATIONAL DEBT SWEAT SHOPS RELIGION IN SCHOOL THE SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE THE DEATH PENALTY (still one of the only civilized countries left) GAY MARRIAGE MARSHALL LAW CIVIL RIGHTS (for christ fucking sake) SOCIAL SECURITY THE ECONOMY The list is simply endless. For example. People love to praise Clinton for how well the economy was doing during his terms, as if he had anything to fucking do with it. Yet, at the same time, no one seems to understand that maybe one of reasons why the economy is so poor may be the fact that WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF "WAR" WITH THE MIDDLE EAST. Ugh, I'm going on a tangent. There are people dying for the right to free speech in other parts of the world that you probably can't even pronounce but still, no one cares. I just know that I've been waiting years for the day that I turn 18 so I can participate in making a difference. Mainly because, despite popular belief, I don't hate America, and I don't want to see it destroyed. If you don't register to vote, than stop fucking complaining about the headlines. You're the only one to blame.
