Song: Built to Spill - "I Would Hurt a Fly" Quote: Not needed.
A lot of people are constantly asking me why I spend so much money on music. Everyone seems to agree that I waste my entire paycheck everyweek on a handful of music that I don't listen to until weeks after I buy it. In fact, some people even think that I'll spend up to 15 dollars on a CD just because I like the artwork, based nothing on the fact that I've never heard of the band in my life. This is all true. I'll admit it. I've got a problem buying music. I take too much in. It distorts the view of whats there to really enjoy with moutains upon moutains of what's next. I can honestly think of at least 5 cd's of the top of my head that I bought months ago that I still haven't listened to. Music is what inspires me. I realize that I have very little motivation in life to create or for that matter, do anything. I hate to sound like the stereotypical listener and go on and on about how it's what makes me happy and would never dissapoint me on purpose, but it's all true. I love every concept of music. The communication, the emotion, the akward experimentation, the chills, the unity. It's all just so... perfect. I can't imagine when I would ever stop myself from buying music because I just can't see what I'm doing wrong. However. This brings me to my point. I realize that I'm the kid with like 500+ cd's who's constantly lending them out to people. As I write this, I look at my list and realize that I have 15 of my cd's lent out to people. Understand that I truly love the fact that people will come to me to borrow music. It's flattering, it really is. Still, there are sometimes that it gets really old. Which concludes my intro. If anyone has my copies of the following albums, can I please have them back? Radiohead - Hail to the Thief ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Source Tags and Codes Cex - Being Ridden John Coltrane - A Love Supreme Bright Eyes - Lifted Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On Thanks.
